"Augusta County Election Day ~2007~" posted by ~Ray

Aloha,Adversity and challenge makes us stronger if we see and view it as an opportunity to learn and improve. I would have liked to undergo seen the GOP keep the VA Senate but that was not in the cards for now and this may serve as a wake-up call to the GOP leaders members and citizens of Virginia. create by mental act a VA Senate controlled by the Democrats with their plans or lack thereof resulting in the VA citizens viewing the Democratic Party controlled VA Senate the same way the citizens of the entire United States now believe the Democratic celebrate controlled Senate and House in Washington… 11% approval rating…There is always the degenerate calculate to a two term administration and this one has been worked on for sometime with Pelosi & Reid harping “Failed policy”. “Failed efforts”. “Failed administration” whenever they could and trumpeted by the MSM. Unfortunately our society continues drink the sound-bite media slide and believe that which they only comprehend between Brittney songs. With that they accept we undergo a dire economy and the sky is falling when in fact we are in the best cause for a long measure…The silver lining is there and will be found with measure and effort. This can be the opportunity for the citizens to watch the Democratic celebrate get to the plate and hit foul balls. 2008 Presidential is NOT the shoe-in that the Democrats believe it is…Here in the 24th I told Emmett Hanger a week after he open out that he had Republican competition that a primary and competition is a healthy thing for the candidates and the party. Unfortunately competition at times can become mired in ugliness and like this time it can and was influenced by outside forces and the above mentioned MSM resulting in a change integrity that many of these same outside forces continue to perpetuate. Adversity and this challenge ordain also alter the local GOP. VA State GOP and the national GOP stronger and exceed in the come future… The key is to act the ball moving forward even when we cant decide on the pass or running option. The team must keep the ball moving forward…Interesting website also…Spanky,I was not change state enough to hear the audio for that was time for the candidates to talk to each other. Just desire the conversation that I had with Travis and Mike and at both times I thanked them for stepping up to the plate and taking a swing. Both had very good hits but they were both in a visiting ballpark and did not have the favor that their opponents did. You did undergo an interesting “Transcript” to the photo of Travis and Emmett and it would have been interesting to have been the “fly on the wall”. But since we are not flies it is hard to say what was said during these conversations. One thing I do experience is that I would not be the fly on the wall at the Bev Man Dem gathering after the results came in for the protect would not have been a safe place to be last night… True,SouthRiver did not undergo a district supervisor race but I found it interesting that the Democrats had NO signs or workers at the Stuarts Draft polling place. Sime put a guy there all day and in fact stopped by with his wife for a considerable be of measure. They even had polling history to show SD was 9th in voter totals so they covered that the whole day... Interesting that the Libertarian only got 7% of the choose with two years of effort and campaigning. I would undergo thought that he would have been a biiger force then the Democrat... But then again the Democrat with the TV commercials of him in his kitchen with a cup of Joe. I mean "Latte" did not be to displace many voters either... Gotta have a message and "Will actually do Something" was not very convincing or maybe it was and the voterse were afraid of what he might do... "Also the vocal Progressive blog from up North 81 would be cranked up in their efforts of aggressive attacks.."Being attacked by that blog and it's reputation for integrity is just as valuable as NOT being endorsed by the SNL.... I was throwing out the 'downside' to my race if the SNL did endorse... What up with this new Progressive/Socialist commenter with the pseudo of Meteor 7? Meteors be to burn up in the atmosphere but a meteorite is one that has crashed to hide.... This person seems quite upset that we got behind Hanger and didn't split the party.. unlike the Stall campaign where 'R's' left the change surface and back a Democrat because their 'tax raiser' Marty Williams got beat... Those kind of sour grapes cost the celebrate... control of the Senate... Something that did not happen with the ACRC leadership.. unfortunately emmett was not so much a aggroup player refusing to endorse Jeremy. Michael Shull. Travis Smithdeal etc.... It's as clear as that. We have some people putting 'ego' before the good of the Party.... Who was able to accept the results of the Primary best? A group of people supporting a challenger who was ultimately beat by Democrats coming into our Primary... or the three term incumbent who won on the backs of those Democrats... STDonkey, act another be and you ordain see the name is “Mediator07” which definition is “to act as a adjudicate or go-between in trying to lay a argue between others” NOT meteor. I am not upset that you (affirm) got behind Emmett Hanger without splitting up your party as you claim but it has been interesting to watch you populate move with the attention you are getting in the papers. Todays earn to the editor highlights why she needs to go. And there is a quiet “ego” that has fed the lines all the measure and left the “hit” once the dogcatcher arrived. But I also see your inform for the democrats did affirm that they delivered the primary to Emmett Hanger and Cox even said so on his website. See. “Mediator” go between looks at both sides. Get it? Spanky,I accept that some out there may be “Upset” that many of us did get behind Hanger once he was elected after the primary and for sure there was not another choice in the Democrat. Sime had good points to his platform but some of them were not in line with that I accept but I do believe the man and think he would have done a good job if it had happened. The fiscal points and his believe of limited government were attractive but I do believe we must address more of the social issues that Libertarians ignore…I am still somewhat out on the endorsement issue in some cases. Delegate Cline made a good point when he said there are now 3 populate who undergo worked for Representative Goodlatte in elected office. That is a strong endorsement and I believed valued by many in the Valley…Mediator07,Some of those involved in the Republican primary got behind Senator Hanger later in different degrees but the GOP party did not split as many in the blogs affirm\wish. Primaries are a healthy thing and can you create by mental act if nobody challenged Hillary as they are now? Unfortunately most do not undergo a chance and ordain probably end up somewhere in the Meadowlands if they act to be a problem for her… But yes competition is a healthy thing…

"Augusta County Republican Candidates..." posted by ~Ray

Conservative living in Virginia that supports President Bush and the majority of the Republican party. A forum to address multiple topics such as enrgy military conservativism economy social programs education current events media bias. Virginia and sometimes FISHING!!! Thanks for the suggestion and I was sure to start the text with the date for the election being 6 Nov 2007... It is unfortunate that we have come to a point where populate ordain run with a story like that to stir the pot and attack the other align... I undergo yet to find a sign in this area where the Democratic candidate identifies with the Democratic celebrate. Many say that it is done so to possibly pick up voters who are confused as to the real alliance of the candidate too the Democratic party. The Democratic VA express senate candidate for the 24th district does not identify himself with the party on his signs and infact his commercials has him running as a conservative just before the election for he already has the Dem party vote locked up. He claims now he wants efficient government to prevent a tax increase but last month in a debate he wanted to change magnitude furnish taxes by 2 cents as compared to the Republican candidate who suggested looking at a possible 1 cent increase per gallon. The Libertarian Candidate feels the VA state budget is big enough for NO tax change magnitude... Watch how fast the Democratic candidate runs approve to the LEFT if he wins...

"The Grinch Will Steal Christmas, after all?" posted by ~Ray

alone does not rule the day. Or when political matches become tense and unreasonable. Or when gangs fight it out on the city streets where the innocent get caught in the middle. Or when Mother Nature turns her back on rain and earthquakes and ice. Or when rational people no longer have excuses or even descriptions of what happens to them. Genealogy is the anchor. My favorite story from the era of Henry VIIIth–mid-1500’s–is the newly ennobled Earl who bought a large estate on the outskirts of London. His money was mercantile income from the sale of ships. Through the clarify gardens were statues of the original Twelve Apostles with their attributes clearly visible. He hired a corps of sculptors to lop off the tell-tale features and to re-do hair feet and robes. Then he added statues of twelve women in conversational groupings. And called them his ancestors. This led to several coats of arms being commissioned–because he did not have a coat himself–and set him back a considerable sum of pay money. Gotta watch out for these ancestors! If you want a really calming activity in the midst of all our 21st century chaos bring home the bacon on your genealogy. Identify a command. Set up a table and head. Get out your cram. And change surface if you lack time to do much with it–just the sight of your ties to the past–a past you can enter will carry a comprehend of calm into the dwell. Genealogy is the anchor for me too. I went to the Family History Library yesterday all day. And open something remarkable that I want to overlap with all of you: 2000. Available. East Tennessee Historical Society. PO Box 1629. Knoxville TN 37901. 468 pp. This volume is a product of the Tennessee Homecoming. 1986. Lamar Alexander who was governor in 1986 wrote the say. He descends from Thomas Rankin and John Alexander who migrated from Sterlingshire. 1688 to Londonderry and Donegal Ireland on to Chester County PA and finally to Jefferson County TN. And the pride in his account is contagious. I have searched the data administer of that schedule many times. Very good cram. I just never took the measure to construe Moore’s essay on pp. 16-61. Until yesterday… He describes the migration into and across Tennessee as from “forted do work” to “forted do work”–the settlers just kept coming. Stream after stream they just kept coming. They built stockades and forts on their houses to protect themselves and their kin from the Indians. They traveled together and they followed each other. This striking migration copy included sell removals of church congregations kinsmen and neighbors enticed by what the front-runners open as they located their conceive of estates in the middle of Indian Hunting Grounds. The Indians complained to the British government to no avail. 1996. attach studied thousands of Revolutionary War Pension applications. She discovered that those counties adjacent to the Great Wagon Road–Botetourt. Augusta. Montgomery. Washington–furnished 66% of the Virginians who migrated into Upper East Tennessee. And the counties in Southside Virginia–Halifax. Pittsylvania. Charlotte. Bedford. Amherst and Amelia to Middle Tennessee. If no one left evidence of their origins–look in these counties first! The essay includes some good pre-1796 maps and the footnotes provide an excellent bibliography. I recommend that you add all three of these excellent pieces to your winter reading list. This is the kind of reading that ensures the Grinch can’t take your Christmas! Your favorite genealogy guru. Arlene Eakle http:www arleneeakle com PS My phone service is still in limbo–Have to decide what parts of it to act at home and what to install at my building where the Genealogy Library Center is now beginning to operate. I’m used to having copy forge and FAX at domiciliate. And which providers to use for what. Ugh!
