For those stopping by my little local blog for the first time my name is Linda Davis and I've been selling real estate in Ledyard. CT for the past 30 years. I mostly talk about Eastern CT real estate here with a close eye on the Ledyard housing market. Real Estate is my full time job but I also find time to serve my community. I'm a member of the Ledyard Town Council and previously served as chairman of the Ledyard Board of Education. I've mostly kept my "political" opinions off this little blog but decided to change that as I start my second term on the Town Council. I'd like to think I can share my opinion on local subjects without getting into too much trouble or making enemies. The truth of the matter is I'm hopeful that the political posturing of the last two years is a thing of the past. There won't be another council election for two years or a mayor's race for four. That gives us plenty of time to do the job of moving Ledyard forward. I believe that is what we were elected to do. I have given a lot of though to this lately. Why oh why can I buy a house in Stratford so cheap compared to neighboring towns? My biggest reason. Perception! In 1999 the word Stratford was nothing more than a sign I saw on I-95. I didn't change surface know Stratford was a town! I thought it was move of Bridgeport. How crazy is that? I had absolutely no idea that Stratford was a town in Connecticut even though I had driven through in hundreds of times. It's like a little secret town nestled in there on the Connecticut coastline between Bridgeport and Milford. I come to find out that not only does it exist but it has more coastline that any other town in the county. I was baffled! I undergo no idea how this happened. How could this be? How many other people is this happening to? Are there other people going about their business looking for a domiciliate in a coastline town that have never even heard of Stratford. You bet there is! It's my personal mission to subject Stratford Connecticut to more house hunters through Active Rain. It's my duty and my pleasure to furnish people additional options they never knew they had.
